Dell Latitude Z Review4u - Pros, Cons and Professional Opinions

Dell Latitude Z Review4u

We have heard a lot of rumors regarding Dell's new Latitude Z model. It reminded us about the times when Apple released its first iPhone. Everyone had an idea, an opinion, and generally anybody had something to say. Due to this increasing popularity, we decided to buy our own Dell Latitude Z and put it through our tests. At first glance, we noticed that it was clearly extremely light weight and surprised us with its good looks. A modern casing full of stylish elements immediately caught our eye and left us craving for more. The guys at Dell really know what they are doing! However, we are here to write our own Dell Latitude Z review and put the notebook through intensive tests, not talk about its good looks. We know some readers appreciate this, but the most important thing when it comes to laptops is their performance, on the go versatility, and overall mobility. So, let' s get started.

The first thing we tested was the Z's central processing unit (or CPU), the most important hardware component of any laptop. We were surprised to find a potent Intel Core 2 Duo SU 9600 in this small and stylish casing. It works at a good frequency of 1.6 GHz, on a front side bus (or FSB) of 800 MHz and with an L2 cache of 3 MB. Although not the most powerful processor out there, it exceeded our expectations when we tested its agility and versatility. It managed to pass all our tests with brio, but we can only give it 9 out of 10 points in or Dell Latitude Z review.

Next, we started conducting tests on the memory and hard disk drive (HDD) of the Latitude Z. Starting with memory, we were surprised to find no less than 4 GB of DDR3 memory working at a high speed of 1066 MHz. This was enough to propel the notebook through all our tests and exceed our expectations. This is why, in our objective Dell Latitude Z review, we are happy to give the notebook no less than 10 out of 10 points. The HDD disappointed us with its small size (just 128 GB) but surprised us by using solid state drive (SSD) technology. This compelled us to give it 8 out of 10 points in this Dell Latitude Z review.

When we took a look at Z's graphics processing unit (GPU), we found the standard Intel GMA 4500 MHD integrated card. It was clearly capable of outputting bright and clear graphics on the stylish 16 inch display (featuring WLED and HDF+ technology) at a maximum resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. In this Dell Latitude Z review, the duo (display + video card) receive 9 out of 10 points.

Throughout this Dell Latitude Z review, you will see why the Z is a good option and why we recommend it as having a good price/performance ratio. Although the storage unit is relatively small, this notebook has more pros than cons!
